Short answer

  • The 916 gold pawn price changes every day with the world gold price, so there is no single fixed figure.
  • At Pajak Master, you can usually borrow 80% to 90% of your gold’s assessed value.
  • The only costs are monthly interest and a RM0.50 processing fee per ticket. There is no valuation fee.
  • The loan period is six months, and we send an SMS seven days before your ticket matures.

The 916 gold pawn price today is not set by any one shop. It follows the world gold price, which moves every working day. A pawn shop converts that price into ringgit, then works out how much it can lend against the pure gold in your jewellery.

Why does the 916 gold pawn price change every day?

Gold is a global commodity, so its price is set by the international market, not by local shops. When the world gold price or the ringgit exchange rate moves, the value of your gold moves with it.

916 gold means 91.6% of its weight is pure gold. The rest is alloy that makes the jewellery stronger. Your pawn value is worked out from that pure gold content, not from the total weight of the piece.

How is your gold loan amount calculated?

The valuation takes three steps, done in front of you:

  1. Weigh. Your jewellery is weighed in grams.
  2. Work out the pure gold. For 916 gold, every 10 grams holds about 9.16 grams of pure gold.
  3. Value and offer. The pure gold content is multiplied by the current gold price, and the loan is offered as a percentage of that value.

At Pajak Master, the loan is usually 80% to 90% of the assessed value. Apart from monthly interest, the only charge is a RM0.50 processing fee per ticket. There is no valuation fee and no hidden cost.

How long is a gold pawn loan?

The loan period is six months. Within that time you can redeem your jewellery at the branch where you pawned it, with the same identity card or passport, or renew the loan by paying the interest due. A renewal issues a new ticket with another six months.

Seven days before your ticket matures, we send you an SMS. If that date passes and we have not heard from you, we send a letter and call you before anything goes to auction.

What do you need to bring?

  • A valid identity card or passport. You must be 18 or older.
  • The gold jewellery you want to pawn.

There is no credit check, and no payslip or bank statement is needed. The loan is based on the value of your jewellery, not your financial history.

Is your gold safe while it is pawned?

Your items are kept in bank-grade vaults and safes, on premises guarded 24 hours a day. When you redeem, you get back the same jewellery you left, not a different piece of equal value.

Licensed pawn shops in Malaysia are bound by the Pawnbrokers Act 1972 and regulated by the Ministry of Housing and Local Government.

Frequently asked questions

Can I find out today’s 916 gold pawn price before I visit?

A firm figure can only be given once your jewellery is valued at the counter, because its actual weight, its condition and the gold price at that moment all affect the amount. At our branches, your gold is valued at the counter while you wait.

Why is the loan lower than what I paid for the gold?

The purchase price includes workmanship and the jeweller’s margin. A pawn shop values only the pure gold content, and the loan is a percentage of that value.

Do I need the purchase receipt?

No. The valuation is based on the jewellery itself. You only need to bring a valid identity card or passport.

If you are not certain where your own ticket stands, send us the ticket number and we will check the date and the options on it. There is no charge for asking and no obligation to renew.
